Presenters (account holders):
- Email address (required for account creation)
- Name (if provided during signup)
- Session metadata: room codes, session start/end times, viewer counts
Viewers (no account required):
- No personally identifiable information is collected from viewers
- We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., session joins) for analytics
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- Screen share content — streams are transmitted peer-to-peer and are never recorded, stored, or processed by our servers
- Payment information — free accounts require no credit card
- Location data
- Browsing history beyond our service
3. How We Use Your Information
- Account management and authentication
- Session tracking (room codes, viewer counts, durations) for service analytics
- Enforcing our Terms of Service
- Communicating important service updates
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Authentication
ScreenDrop uses Clerk for authentication. When you create an account, your credentials are managed by Clerk's secure infrastructure. Please review Clerk's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your authentication data.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
6. Data Retention
Account information is retained as long as your account is active. Session metadata is retained for analytics purposes and may be deleted periodically. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure authentication. Screen shares use end-to-end WebRTC encryption between presenter and viewers.

9. Children's Privacy
ScreenDrop is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
